A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT: TERRY JOHNSONFirst off, I want to thank and recognize the overwhelming support from all of you to elect me as the new President, and hopefully carry on the progress that Chuck Meacham achieved during his tenure. The entire Board of Directors has worked very hard to get us back to where we belong as a membership, and they all should be lauded for their efforts. Secondly, I wish to thank and send appreciation to all of the attendees and competitors at our last convention. It was an unbelievable show, not just in regards to quantity, but in quality. It seems that each convention that we have grows in quality, which is the major reason that we all attend, TO GET BETTER! The industry needs us as competitors. The industry needs improvement and artists with heart. We all need to appreciate that without clients, we can't attend the shows, and with going to the shows with continued good efforts, we can show prospective clients that their dollars are well spent with us. Keep in mind that the 2008 show calendar is pretty full for us in the Western Region. We have the New Mexico show in Ruidoso, NM in late March, the Western Regional in Idaho in early June, our show June 12-15 in Phoenix, Colorado also in June and the NTA show in Lubbock, TX in mid-July. I hope for all who attended this past show in Tucson, that you all enjoyed yourselves. It was a great venue for us, but as we continue to grow, we will need a place with larger accomodations. We'd like to have several seminar/get-togethers, and ideas/suggestions are not only welcome and appreciated, but are necessary! We want to provide you with what will help you and your shop succeed. What do you want to learn next???? In addition, if any of you have ANY suggestions to make YOUR organization better, stronger or faster, please get them to me or any other Board member or officer as soon as possible. A Note from Vice Pres: Dan ToutWhat a great show! I don’t know about you, but seeing everyone’s entries really gets my creative juices flowing. I challenge all of you to participate in next year’s competition. Its the perfect opportunity to learn and grow in our profession. In addition, we all had the chance to socialize with a great bunch of people! We are working hard to find great judges and seminar leader and a good location in Phoenix for the next show. Plan now to attend June 12-15, 2008. I look forward to working with and for YOU this coming year. ************************************************************ A WORD FROM YOUR SECRETARY/TREASURER: Gail Tout Thank you to everyone who helped out at the show in June. It was great to see everyone! This next year will be a busy one. We have quite a few opportunities to attend shows and participate in wonderful seminars. Mark your calendars NOW and plan for our show in Phoenix, June 12-15th, 2008. Your ideas and suggestions are what will make the seminars and shows great for you. Contact any of us. You soon will be receiving raffle tickets to sell as a fund raiser for ATAA. They are $5 each. The drawing will be held December 15th.
